Kıvanç Baruönü

He was born on 11.10.1969; he completed his elementary, secondary and highschool education in Zonguldak. While studying at Ankara University Faculty of Communication Radio, Television and Cinema Department, he was interested in theatre and photography. In his college years, he started to work in the field of tv broadcasting – his childhood dream. He was employed as a reporter on “32. Gün”.

He worked for many years in one of Turkey’s first private radio stations – Genç Radyo and then national radio Klas Radyo as programmer and chief editor. He had a prominent role in the development of private radios in Turkey and their legal foundations. With the establishment of Number One Music TV channel; he returned to television programming and started to direct music videos. From early 1990s to 2000s, he has directed numerous music videos and received various TV Music Awards. He was long time employed in “A Takımı” Tv news programme as audiovisual director and advisor.

He was involved in feature films “Dansöz” and “G.O.R.A” as assistant director and special effects supervisor and in “Kelebeğin Rüyası” as production designer. His directorial debut “Patron Mutlu Son İstiyor” will be released in January 2014. He joined Böcek Yapım in November 2013.
